Next time someone questions IV's efforts, I am going to bluntly ask them if they contributed or came for the advocacy day event. If they did neither, we do not need their 2 cents of free comments.
I would again suggest to go for paid Forum for everyone. Treat desi's like desi's.
Free means one gets all kinds of public answers hindering IV's efforts.

Common man may not understand this - too complicated for a common man who is not well versed with immigration stuff.

In AP e-file application, for the country there are choices like
"INDIA-GOA"
"INDIA-SIKKI"
"INDIA-ANDAM"
"INDIA-INDIA"
Anybody can tell me why these sub-categories have been created?

Most people has very misconception about "parole". It is not a free/flexible travel document like visa. As a AOS applicant, one should not leave US till it is approved/denied. One MUST present in US during AOS. The parole is only for any emergency purpose; which is similar to prisioners. As USCIS is flexible, in approving the AP, the people don't realize the travel limitation of AP. They are travelling on AP for vatation/fun etc.. As per law, the AP is not intended for it. The CBP officer was right in asking the legitimacy of the travel. The AP document clearly says it is based on "humanitation" admission to retrun after an emergency travel.
That's correct, but what is one suppose to do when it takes years to get a green card. As someone mentioned earlier, the reality does not match the intent for the law.

I have just kept GC out of the equation for anything I do in my life. Buying a house was a personal choice and I could afford one - so just went ahead and did it. If I have to leave the country for good due to some immigration related bs, my lender can suck it up :D

If you want to own a gun, own a gun and follow proper procedures and laws related to gun ownership. You can be afraid of every little thing before you get your green card.
If you are going to immigrate, then immigrate and assimilate with pride and dignity and stop being afraid of every little thing that might eventually lead of revocation of any of your immigration statuses.

I am on H1 and my wife on H4. Can she apply for EAD while I do not ( I would prefer to extend my H1) after we both apply for 485?

We have members from all over the world. And as far as EB-3 is concerned the entire category retrogressed -- all countries. We feel that this is a problem that affects all highly skilled workers.
One thing to remember is that reporters take snippets from hours of interviews, and then their editors edit the article down further.

I was responding to a post on this forum (and not the press in general) that implied that this issue affects people from specific ethnic backgrounds, which is false.
I do have a general issue that people seem to forget that.

Technically, you are right. But on the other hand, it was at a time when one had to wait at the most 6 months for AOS.
But, for people from India, on EB categories, the wait is not months, its in YEARS. So, its irrational to go by whats written there.
On the other hand: I think we must request USCIS to recognize this underlying problem with EB folks that are primarily from India. They must print an exception on the AP for India and exclude the wording "for emergency purpose only". I don't know if USCIS has the discretionary power to amend minor changes.
If AOS takes many years, then keep the non-immigrant visa, so that no need to worry about AP.

Honestly, I am tired too. I have canadian PR but I am not even sure if I want to go there now and start afresh there. Maybe I should think about semi/retirement in India too.
Gar Gar ki yahi kahani, ( it's typical story for any immigrant family),
main issue for us now we had invested so much time on this f** GC, we can't bail out now, feel like we are so close,
for myself I don't have that much energy left in me to go back to start allover in India, worest case scenario I just want to stay couple of more years and save as much as possible and go back to India for semi/retirement

I am suprprised if IV is working towards abiltiy to file 485 and hard country limit...Just want to know how IV is working towards these 2 items...
If any of these two wont show out in coming bill,..then I would say goodbye to IV..because all other items in bill were there without IV;s interaction....
Can somebody calrify if these options will anyway include in this bill..by means of ammendements...
This is like someone in Sri Lanka saying that "if I don't get a blanket within 12 hours of the Tsunami, I will quit the Red Cross."
How about thinking, "if these items don't show up in the coming bill, I will become a more active member and work towards getting these items to show up at the next opportunity"?
It is probably not a good idea to treat our voluntary organization as if it were our butler. We're all part of this; we didn't "hire" IV to do this job for us.
