While this question may sound redundant, I want to make an honest attempt to understand it. How does creating media awareness translate into making politicians understand the complicated issues suffered by legal immigrants? Further do they give any weightage to the fact that the stories are in the media and therefore they need attention?
I am biased towards the opinion that we might have already run enough media stories. I believe that the real fight now is to convince the politicians to do something about it. Propaganda and lobbying is the only thing that works with politicians in this country. And you have to choose a medium that politicians directly refer to. Meeting politicians and their representatives in person is most effective I believe. With due respect to your views, Pappu, can we discuss some of these questions?

My wife is apply for AP renewal. She has her AParole until oct, 2,2008. She is travelling to india this week for three weeks. Can she apply for renewal and travel to india. Is it legal or does it have any replications.

Yes, Its the same number, but at one of the prompts, you need to put a different number for LIN.
I just call them, was told that they have no additional information that what is available on the recorded message or the USCIS case status web site. I said I wanted to know if the case is 'pre-adjudicated' and the lady mentioned that that information is not disclosed. ;(

I think the 6 months period should be counted fron the RD on the RN for you I-485, else AC21 and this " propoganda" contadict each other.
If you get your GC with in 6months from the RD then stay untill you finish 6 months (this is very unlikely to happen as it takes lot more than 6 months)
If you get the GC after 6 months i think you are fine.

Agreed...it is personal decision...but for Indians...it is a difficult decision. The way India is growing....People who have lived here for more than 10years...are migrating back....i know a person who left...has warned me...just to earn and get out.....not good for kids future etc....
So...we are all still learning.....

my friends..... all suggestions/opinions I got were encouraging and guiding..... never the less I got many REDs and bad comments... but its OK.... when you post on Open Forums..... people are entitled for their opinions...... So thank you......please vote if you still haven't..... I thought about my questions even more over the weekend..... I think I will put 5% down + PMI...... and take a risk after winter when home prices are traditionally depressed.... see what happens......

PD = Date on which your labor application received.
My 140 says it is the date on which my labor application received. i believe it is the case with all.
Please contact USCIS to get that corrected.
Can some one clarify if the PD is based on the day labor application was received or the day it was approved?

I completely agree �eb3retro� in working with AILA.org in helping us get our message across. PLEASE STOP THIS INSANE IDEA OF SENDING FAXES all the time either from members of IV or asking other people to do it on our behalf. We are hurting ourselves and don�t even know it. As I have said in my earlier posts �We need the Erin Brockovich of immigration to help us on this, and I am the AILA or similar organization can do this for us.�

IP is banned?
I am sure he has heard of IP hiding techniques. If I were banned based on my IP, and I consistently want to post dividing threads on IV, would I not use a hidemyip plugin or post thru one of the hide my IP websites?

Dont give him ideas. I wouldnt ban based on IP as I know many guys from same company can be members of IV. We dont want to ban all of them.
Second, I would not ban him, instead make him part of us for a collective action. He seems to have a big group and they are planning to do somethings in which we have interests too. If his agenda if fully like those of IV or mine in my thread, then its not a bad idea to do something rather than waiting for a shubh ding for EB3 to become current or move drastically. I see no hope unless we raise our voice together.

Same case was with me. They picked on my 3 year bachelor degree. Can i do appeal after 2 years ?
Not appeal but rather re-filing as a fresh 140. The labor doesn't expire as long as you had filed an i-140 in the past when the labor was valid.

You will still get 3 year H1 extensions after applying 485 as long as your priority date is not current. Anyone with a late PD will be fine.

As I see, most of you are missing the point. Instead of trying to understand, you showing the maturity of mind. The whole purpose of EB immigration is to meet the Demand(Job opportunities) vs the supply(immediately available candidates).
When there are a lot of opportunities exists for EB3 level(skilled profession) and less opportunities exists for EB1(Ph.D/Executive Director), USCIS should give more no. of Visas to EB3, then EB1.
A country cannot be built with only the kings, and not even a home can be built with only Ph.Ds(Nobody do the dishes).

We all came here looking for greener pastures. But How many of you think this Country and this Culture is great ? Now think about the Economic Growth - The US is still the most competitive but they are not the Number One anymore.
Or maybe some of us came here precisely for the reasons you mention, seeking greener pastures but fell in love with the openness, informality and the possibilities here :).
A lot of people wait until they get green card and then make a move back home primarily because they are hedging their bets. They hear all those stories about growth and opportunity in India but are not so sure if they will able to fit in after staying away for so many years. Having a green card gives them the opportunity to test the waters so to speak and come back if it does not work out.

The requirements for the position shouldn't exceed SVP time levels for the job zone to which the position code belongs - that's all I know. If the position code falls under zone IV or V you can require MS.
I still don't understand how BS+5 qualifies for EB2. If the position code falls is in zone V, BS+5 (7 years of SVP) would be a "normal" requirement, but isn't EB2 only for people with advanced degrees AND positions that require the advanced degree?
