Katie Holmes and daughter Suri go strawberry picking in Ontario as actress takes a break from role as Jackie Kennedy

Day out: Katie Holmes takes a break from filming mini-series The Kennedys to go strawberry picking with daughter Suri

They are often photographed tucking into sweet delights such as cupcakes and brownies.

But Katie Holmes and daughter Suri decided to go for something a bit more healthy in Ontario, Canada, yesterday, and went strawberry picking on a local farm.

Katie, who is currently in the Canadian province filming TV mini-series The Kennedys, in which she is playing Jackie Kennedy, took a break from filming to spend some time with her four-year-old daughter.

While Katie's husband Tom Cruise is busy promoting his new movie Knight And Day, Katie and Suri decided to make the most of the local Ontario sights during their time in Canada.

But, slightly detracting from the healthy aspect of picking your own fruit, Suri was spotted enjoying a pot of ice cream as she and Katie left Whittamore's Farm carrying a bag full of strawberries.

And strawberries weren't the only thing that Katie, who was dressed casually in a green checked shirt, skinny jeans and brown biker-style boots, was carrying - she also struggled to hold four-year-old Suri in her other arm.

Earlier this month, Katie was spotted researching her role as Jackie Kennedy by reading One Special Summer, an autobiographical-style book written by Jackie and illustrated with the former First Lady's own drawings.

The mini-series, which also stars Greg Kinnear, is due to be broadcast on The History Channel in the U.S. in 2011.

Jackie Kennedy, widely considered to have been one of the most beautiful and stylish women in the world, later married Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis and died of cancer in 1994.
